The short answer is, yes, you can apply stick on tiles over existing tiles. However, there are a two key factors you should consider before diving into the project.
1. Grout Lines
If your existing tiles have deep or uneven grout lines, they may show through the stick on tiles, creating an unsightly appearance. To prevent this, you can apply a thin layer of tile adhesive or levelling compound over the grout lines to create a smooth, even surface. Allow the adhesive or compound to dry completely before installing the peel and stick wall tiles.
2. Uneven Existing Tiles
Your existing tiles need to be level and even in order for the new stick on tiles to work properly. Some tiles (like stone) are not level and a lot of work would need to be done to apply stick on tiles properly. If you do not apply your new stick on tiles on an even, level surface they will not stick properly and will look odd.
